March Morning Work
Materials Used In Activities
I always encourage teachers to use what they have or use what’s cheap. However, there are always teachers who would like to locate specific items that I may have used in activities. So I created a list below to help. Just click on any highlighted text to see where I secured various items.
1.Pot of Gold Sight Word Links.

Please note: I also added a Hidden Shamrock version of the above stations. With these stations, I found a plastic St. Patrickβs Day necklace and cut the beads off. I hid the different sized shamrocks and balls in my therapy putty. Itβs just another option for you to consider. Enjoy!
14. Race To Fill Your Hat.
- 1 dice (use different types of dice to differentiate this activity)
- Shamrocks, plastic coins, imitation gold pieces, green pompoms, or green mini ping pong
- 2 Tongs
- Leprechaun hat (you can find them at the Dollar Tree) or thematic buckets
15. Fill Your Pot (0-10).
- Fill Your Pot self-correcting cards printed on cardstock, laminated, and secured with a clothespin.
- Fill Your Pot playing mat printed on cardstock and laminated for durability. (One for each student. You could also use a small plastic mini pot.)
- Tongs
- Plastic gold or gold coins (or you could use yellow pompoms or flat glass marbles, buttons or beads)
16. Fill Your Pot With One More.
- Self-correcting cards printed on cardstock, laminated and secured with a clothespin.
- Playing mat printed on cardstock and laminated for durability. (One for each student or you could use a mini, plastic pot.)
- Tongs

17. Empty Your Pot With One Less.

18. Lucky Spin To Win.
- Ping pong balls (or white ones decorated with shamrocks, rainbows or leprechauns with numbers written on them with a Sharpie

- (cd case and transparent spinner β optional)
19. Counting On Shamrocks.

20. Counting Back Shamrocks.

21.Lucky Number Bonds.
- Self-correcting missing addend cards

- Gold pieces (use plastic gold nuggets, coins, yellow pompoms, buttons or gold flat glass marbles
22. Lucky Sticker Count.
- Sticker recording sheet printed on paper. One for each child. (There are two to choose from.)
- One sheet allows students to trace and total up all the stickers used.
- One sheet allows you to place a specific sticker next to a box. Students use those three types to outline the template and then count up the individual stickers of each type and record the number next to the sticker in the box.
- Small thematic stickers or any small stickers you can find or you can use colored sticker dots.
23. Lucky Addition.
- Shamrock paper punches
- Glue sticks
- Lucky Heart Addition booklet (included in this packet)
- There are equations from 0-5 and others from 5-10. Select and print off the pages you wish to include, staple and cut in half.
- If you can’t get shamrock paper punches you can always use stamps.
24. Gel Bead Sort By Color.
- Gel beads in same colors as cookie cutters (you can get green and yellow cookie cutters at the dollar tree)
- Thematic cookie cutters (Green or Yellow)
25. Gel Bead Roll and Win.
- Thematic cookie cutters
- Gel beads in thematic colors
- Dice (Itβs easy to differentiate this activity just by changing the number or type of dice you use.)

27. St. Patrickβs Day Straws Cut and Thread Necklaces.
- Yarn with taped ends for easier threading or ribbon
- St. Patrick Themed colored straws or Rainbow Colors

28. Lucky Constructing Letters And Words.
- Transparent green flat marbles (you can get them at the Dollar Tree) or rainbow-colored bingo discs
- Lucky Construction Sight Word Cards (Or letters)
- Light Table (optional)
29. Rainbow Containers Count and Record.
- Small Dollar mini white Surerite containers with rainbows painted on the lid. (Or you can use those mini plastic pots, but I like the lids because they have a top and the pots do not.
- Paint pens to make a rainbow (if necessary)
- Small rainbow erasers, buttons, beads, pompoms, Skittles or I painted flat white marbles with rainbows.
- Recording mat printed on cardstock and laminated
30. Pot of Gold Add and Record.
- Small-dollar store container (Or you can use those mini plastic pots, but I like the lids because they have a top and the pots do not.)
- Paint Pens or Sharpie to make a pot if necessary
- Plastic green and gold-colored coins (or you could use buttons, pompoms or beads of the same color.
- Recording sheet printed on cardstock and laminated.
31. Leprechaunβs Gold Capital/Lowercase Puzzles
- Small sensory bin with fun thematic filler
- Capital/Lowercase Letter puzzles printed on one color of cardstock, laminated and cut apart.

- Skittles candy (or pompoms, buttons or beads in rainbow colors. (You can also use small flat glass white beads and use paint pens to paint the colors on them.)

- Self-correcting cards printed on cardstock, laminated and folded to hide the answer.
- Clothespins (fun thematic foamy or item hot glued to clothespin optional)
- Tongs or tweezers for moving items
36. Lucky Letter Match Up
- Flat green glass marbles programmed with letters of your choice using paint pens
- One editable playing mat per student at the station with your selected letters (Included in this set.)

- Flat green glass marbles that are programmed with sight words of your choice. (You can get them at the Dollar Tree)

38. Unlock your Luck Math.
- Small sensory box
- Thematic items including poly beads, shamrocks, horseshoes and gold coins.
- Fun thematic tongs or chopsticks
- Several differently keyed lock and key sets. I bought mine individually from discount and dollar stores. Do not buy a βlotβ of keys as they will be keyed all the same way. You can also ask parents to donate any old, unused locks and keys. Itβs a great way to assure they arenβt all keyed the same way.
- Key fobs/tags with labeling capability.
39. Collecting Lucky Clovers.
- Small Basket with holes on the sides. I got mine at the Dollar Tree.
- Yarn or pipe cleaners to make a web.
- Small white ping pong balls or white flat marbles
- Paint clovers on one side and letters (or words) on the other.
- On one paint two shamrocks
- On one, paint just one shamrock and not words.
