This subtraction activity is differentiated to meet the needs of your kinesthetic learners who need to move and is also tiered to meet the various readiness levels of your students. Students search your room for ‘monsters’ with subtraction problems. When they find one, they record the problem and use the attached numberline or other teacher supplied manipulative to complete the problem. One tier focuses on subtration from 5-0, the next their is subtraction 10-0 and the last is 15-0. You don’t have to settle with teaching to the middle with this fun, math center activity.
