Long ‘u’ CVCe Word Families Galore
Word family study is an essential part of reading instruction. They represent patterns in our language. By mastering these single syllable words, students become more comfortable with rhyming and eventually learn to decode longer, more complex words. All this will help your students become better readers. This Word Family packet includes long ‘u words/families included in Long “u” CVCe Word Families Galore.

Because there are so few CVCE long ‘u’ words compared to other vowels, this packet is complied a bit differently than my other word family packs but with the same familiar activities and items.

(Each vowel pack will be represented by a different color for easy reference.) For each word family, there is a week’s worth of activities included to introduce, familiarize and provide word family word work practice for your students.
