This package includes materials that will allow you to differentiate eleven different math activities. Activities that can be played are:
Pilgrim Number Order: To play this game in your sensory table, simply place the appropriate cards (they are color coordinated to help you differentiate in response to student readiness: ) in your sensory table. Have students take turns drawing three numbers. They can then take those three cards and pin them with a clothes pin in order from smallest to biggest on a string hanging between to chairs or from the ceiling. Otherwise, place cards in a basket or seasonal bucket. Have students draw three cards and place them in order on the on each pilgrim from smallest to largest and then write the numbers. They should read their numbers to their partner. There is also the option for students to record some of the numbers they placed in order by using the enclosed response sheet.
Thanksgiving Play-doh Ten Frame and Making Ten Mats: Students use play-doh or wikki sticks to write numbers while representing numbers by placing manipulatives or balls of dough in a ten frame. For students who are more advanced but who can benefit from the engaging activity of playing with play-doh, there is the option for ‘making ten’ on a separate set of mats.
Turkey Hunt: Students search for the hidden turkey by identifying numbers.
What’s For Dinner: This station will help students fluently determine greater and less than quantities by comparing numerals and/or ten frame numbers.
Turkey Trot: This self-correcting, independent math station will help your students build confidence with number order.
Thanksgiving Number Yatta: This activity will help your students with number fluency and counting objects that are scattered quickly. There are two playing mats for differentiating.
Gobble, Gobble: A fun fast paced number recognition card game.
Counting On Turkeys: Students draw a number and write on the turkey on their recording sheet. Then they write the numbers that come after.
Thanksgiving Friends Memory: Play like traditional memory.
Linking Thanksgiving Friends: This is a great fine motor activity for students and reinforces number order.
