Description

This editable product will provide your students with a variety of ways to practice writing their names. I selected this font specifically because my students come to me struggling with where to start their letters. While this font is NOT the Handwriting Without Tears font, it does have that valuable starting point dot and provides an early childhood friendly style that is very similar. Students will trace their name with a colored pencil first, then with a marker, and then with three different colored crayons, And finally, they will write their name on their own. There are spaces for you to enter up to thirty student names.

This packet includes an ’I Can . . . ‘ visual sheet to help your students complete this activity independently.

Please note: To use this editable product, you must first download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader. This is a free download that you can search on Google. Once you have done that, please restart your computer. Now go and download and save this file onto your computer. Once the file is saved, please right click on the file and when it prompts you to ‘open using . . .’ please select ‘Adobe Reader.’ You should now be able to start loading your names you would like to use below. Please note, the longer the name, the smaller the letters will appear.

Hey, I’m Marsha

Welcome to my blog!

With nearly 20 years of experience as a full-time kindergarten teacher, I’m committed to creating a classroom where learning is joyful, engaging, challenging, and fun. Each day, I work to ensure that my students feel successful through instruction that considers their unique interests, learning profiles, and readiness levels. I believe that students should be excited to come to class and enjoy a myriad of hands-on activities that encourage exploration and discovery.

While I continue to teach full-time, I find so much joy in connecting and building friendships with teachers worldwide. It’s why I started this blog back in 2012. My hope has become a reality as I have been able to forge relationships with teachers, sharing ideas and building friendships beyond my little neck of the woods through professional development sessions and this blog.

So by all means, take some time to look around and explore A Differentiated Kindergarten. Gather some new ideas, fun tips, and most importantly, don’t forget to reach out and say, ‘Hi!’
