This I-Spy subtraction activity is tiered meet the various readiness levels of your students and also addresses Common Core Standards in Math for K-2.
Kindergarten O.A.5 Fluently add and subtract within 5.
Grade 1 O.A.6 Add and subtract within 20 demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10.
Grade 2 O.A.2 Fluently add and subtract within 20.

Teachers: There are three different tiers included in this packet. Tier one addresses subtraction through 5, tier 2 addresses subtraction through 10 and tier 3 addresses subtraction through 20. Each tier has its own recording sheet. You can choose between a colored (for laminating and using with dry erase marker perhaps) or the black and white recording sheet. Students use magnifying glasses to ‘spy’ for subtraction problems. When they find the problem, they will write the number sentence next to its answer. There is a number line included on each recording sheet for convenience.
