This differentiated activity aligns with Common Core State Standards for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades:
RF.K.3c: Read common high frequency words by sight.
RF.1.3g: Recognize and Read grade-appropriate irregularly spelled words.
RF.2.3f: Recognize and read grade-appropriate irregularly spelled words.

This is a fun sight word activity tiered so that you can meet your students right at their readiness level. Students use magnifying glasses to find the hidden Dolch words in each picture. When they have found 20 unduplicated words, they read them to a friend or their teacher.

Sometimes my students like to race to see who can find them all first and read them correctly. As your students’ word recognition changes, so can you adjust the level of sight words they search for in each picture.
