February has arrived and that means that it's time to turn my thoughts from polar animals and snowmen and turn them towards that pink month. The one that my kiddos never want to end. In fact, they love it so much and the month is so short that we're usually utilizing Valentine's activities for the entire month. I have to say, I'm ok with that.So time to say good-bye to my sweet snowmen at night in the hall outside my class. Didn't they do a great job on the snowflakes ... VIEW POST
Planning on Valentine’s Word Work Stations and a BIG BIG Sale.
Getting Back Up To Speed . . and a big Giveaway!
Even though we started back up to school January 2nd, it's seems that it has been forever getting back up to speed. In a span of one week, I lost one day with kiddos due to my own sick kids, one day to Diebels testing and another day to a snow (rain) day. Regardless, my kinders jumped in feet first and started tackling new Cold Weather Math Stations and Centers. I was able to snap a few pictures of the fun (and work . . . shhhhh they think it's all play) happening in my little ... VIEW POST

What’s inside your holiday sensory table and a freebie.
I love this time of year for using holiday items in new and interesting ways to make learning fun for kinders. My learning centers are the easiest way to really tap into those multiple intelligences (you remember those don't you?) and let exploration really run wild. I know everyone has their own definition for what 'learning centers' are, but for me, they are something completely different than Daily 5 Stations or Math Stations. Learning Centers in my classroom are truly those ... VIEW POST

Finding Success With Ball Word Champs and Top Bananas
I always have said, if it's not fun for me, then it's not fun for my kinders. That was the whole reason I started using "Ball Words" to teach my kinders sight words years ago. That particular year I had a slew of boys and 4 girls. Sight words were boring and since my class was pretty high energy and even the girls were into games and sports, I slapped the first level of Dolch words on a picture of a baseball and told them that they were baseball ...
